User Experience Research & Design

Palette: Creating an environment for fostering relationships between artists through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Team Development

The team utilized live space and analog methods to encourage collaborative brainstorming.

Brainstorming sessions were spent anticipating problems, as well as solutions to combat them. Post-it notes were kept on the walls for easy access to revisit the teams fluid thought process.

User Research

The early stages of product creation included User Research. This process included the creation of Personas, establishing Journey Maps, and finally conducting User Interviews with potential users.

User Testing

User Testing began on a low-fidelity prototype. Through the iterative design process, testing results and recommended solutions were recorded in a findings matrix.

The software Trello was used for organizing the recommended solutions and creating a priority hierarchy.

Sketches

Initial sketches were drawn to create a low-fidelity physical prototype. This was used as the basis for the visual design of the product based on feedback from user tests and input from team designers.

Wireframes

After testing the sketches with the target market, the less popular functions were discarded and the team converged on one clear path. Wireframing was completed in Sketch.

Final Prototype

Sketch and Origami were used to build the mid-fi and hi-fi prototypes. The team began with gray wireframes in the mid-fi prototype, which were iterated during user testing. After receiving conclusive testing results, a brand and style guide was created to inform the final UI, which was developed in Sketch.
